Homemade muesli absolutely trumps the store bought stuff. Store bought muesli invariably has something in it that you don’t particularly like – for me that’s sultanas.

My housemate Simone is a big fan of homemade waffles. As a child she frequently had them for dinner! Her usual recipe is similar to pancake mix, but on this occasion she made Belgium waffles. (more…)
Fruit bread makes a quick, easy and tasty breakfast, it is especially tasty when smothered with butter or coconut oil and honey. Mmm, delicious!
The problem I face is I can’t eat commercial baker’s yeast and that more or less rules out being able to eat bought fruit bread. Luckily, I love cooking and cooking new things I haven’t tried to make before. (more…)
I signed up as a Couchsurfing host late last year. Our second surfers were a lovely French couple, Camille and Jeremy, to say thank you for hosting they cooked my housemates and I delicious French crepes.
Crumpets are delicious. For me they also hold nostalgic memories of long family breakfasts during school holidays.
Yesterday my housemate, Simone, got very excited about the prospect of making our own sourdough crumpets. This would be a first attempt for both of us. (more…)
